Lisa Sticca-Conrod, JD, MS began tutoring in 1998 as a favor for a coworker, and what began as a labor of love has evolved into a thriving business rooted in developing long-lasting relationships with students and their families. She has helped over a thousand students not only survive the expectations of modern education, but also blossom in their environments – at home, at school, and beyond. Lisa’s relationships with students and families last years – building a trusting bond that both students and families have come to rely on. In fact, many of Lisa’s students come back to her as young adults seeking advice, support, and guidance from a trusted friend and mentor.
Lisa personalizes tutoring and educational services for each student, rooted in years of over 25 years experience as a tutor and a higher education professional. She takes a personal interest in their strengths, and works with them to identify and work on areas that need improvement in a manner that works for that particular student with enthusiasm and passion, modeling to them the importance of a can-do attitude. She relishes the “deep dive” with students, getting to the root of concepts with which they struggle, and helps them to feel confident about their accomplishments as they learn and develop.
Additionally, her over 20 years in higher education has made her an effective college counselor, researching college to find the optimal learning environment for each student where they can blossom as the whole person. She also helps families plan for tours, prepares students for interviews, and leads all aspects of the college application and financial aid processes. Lisa feels that her success is directly tied to that of her students, and works closely with them and their families to find the educational program that is the right academic, cultural, and financial fit.
